Video Marketing Resources

The type of video equipment, software to use etc are common topics that I get a lot of questions about. So I thought of putting together a list of items that I have experience with and know for sure that it guarantees good results.

By all means, don’t think that you need all these products to start your video journey. Depending on your budget, goals of creating videos and the type of videos you plan to create, pick and choose for the list below.

Most of us can do with the use of natural lighting for our purposes of creating videos for marketing. See if you can spot an area near a window etc when shooting a video.

Anyway, just in case tf you are just looking for an cost effect yet useful set,

It has a 2 free day-light CFL lights & umbrellas as part of the product.

Screen Recording Software

Most of the videos I produce are How To or presentation oriented. For over 2 years I’ve been using Camtasia and is my defacto screen capture software.

Camtasia for Mac Version 2
TechSmith Camtasia Studio Version 7(Windows)

It’s fairly decently priced, easy to learn and has a much simpler interface than other software which costs a lot. If you plan on making tutorial and demo type video which require recording the screen, Camtasia is the right fit for you.

Video Editing Software

Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite
Various video product experts debate between Adobe Premiere vs Sony Vegas. In my opinion, I tend to prefer Sony Vegas since it has almost all the features that Adobe Premiere has and it’s only costs quarter of what I would have to pay for Adobe Premiere!

Additionally, there is also a trial version for Sony Vegas so you can try it out can decide for yourself.
